The museum is dedicated to the parmesan painter Amedeo Bocchi, opened in 1999, it is hosted in the restored rooms of the ancient Sanvitale palace, headquarter of the Banca Monte Parma and Monte di Parma Foundation, located in the historical center of Parma.
Amedeo Bocchi (Parma 1883 - Roma 1976) was a prominent artist of the 20th century italian art, the museum was created to promote his works and to show his best paintings. Therefore the heirs had donated to the Monte di Parma Foundation a great number of works to whose have been recently added new significant acquisitions. The musem is displayed thorugh an itinerary that is mainly chronological, in order to follow and discover the artistic life of Bocchi. The rooms to visit are six: The training's years, Rita, The masterpieces, The drawings, Bianca, In the solitude of Villa Strohl-Fern.
The museum has also a wide room available for temporary exhibitions and free workshops for children and schools.
