Ljubljana and Bled Day Trip with Certified Guide

This Ljubljana and Bled day trip from Trieste crosses into Slovenia on a round-trip transfer and fills a full day, about ten hours, with two very different places. Bring your ID card or passport.

The morning belongs to Ljubljana. A certified guide leads the walk, in Italian and English, through picturesque streets, busy squares and its bridges, pointing out the views and hidden corners. Everyone wears a personal headset on a whisper system, so you hear the guide even in a crowded square. Then comes about an hour of free time, enough for lunch at a restaurant in the centre.

In the early afternoon the transfer continues to Lake Bled. A stroll along the shore brings Bled Island into view, the country's one and only island, with its Gothic church. From there you choose:

• climb on your own to Bled Castle, on its hill above the valley
• sit down with kremšnita, Slovenia's traditional dessert, by the turquoise water

The return to Trieste ends the day. Meals, entrances not listed in the programme and personal expenses are extra.
