The Itinerary in Detail:
Your day begins at Bologna Centrale train station. Climb aboard the Italo High-Speed train and enjoy the comfort of First Class. The train journey is independent, and you will meet the tour leader and the rest of the group directly upon arrival at the station in Reggio Emilia. In just 20 minutes, you will reach the spectacular Reggio Emilia Mediopadana station, where our private driver will be waiting for you for the transfer to the Emilian countryside.
For those who select the "smart" option, the day starts directly in Parma (in fact, train tickets are not included) and the meeting with the tour leader and the rest of the group is scheduled right in front of the NH hotel in Parma.
The first stop is a traditional cheese factory. You will walk through the immense aisles of the ageing rooms ("the cathedrals of cheese"), surrounded by thousands of golden wheels.
Note: If you choose the 8:30 AM option, you will be able to see the master cheesemakers at work during the highlight of the production process: the extraction of the steaming wheels from the copper boilers. An ancient and fascinating ritual that makes this tour unique.
