The church, designed by Giovan Battista Fornovo at the time of his collaboration with architect Vignola, has an elliptical body expanding in ten radial chapels with buttresses at regular intervals.
The Annunciation is celebrated on the Friars' commission above the main portal, in a stucco relief dating back to the second half of the 17th century, by Lombard artist Giovan Battista Barberini.
In the grandiose interior, the central area is separeted from the choir by a triumphal arch with stucco trimmings. Among the paintings in the church, particularly noteworthy is the large altar piece in the apse, a Madonna with Child and Saints painted in 1518.
It is possible to visit Padre Lino's cell by calling the church and talk to the Padre Superiore for an appointment.
