Chianti Wine Tour from Florence to Two Wineries

This Chianti wine tour from Florence trades city streets for rolling vineyards. You board a coach with your English-speaking guide, who points out landmarks on the way into the Chianti region, and spend the half day at two different wineries.

At each cantina the winemakers welcome you, tell the story of the estate and walk you through the cellar and the nearby vines. You learn how the barrels are made, how the wine is produced and what a bottle needs to be labelled Chianti Classico. At the second stop you also hear how the weather shapes the grapes.

• 3 to 4 wines at the first winery, with an explanation of each and tips on tasting
• Up to 3 more wines at the second, presented by the local producer
• Bread, cheese, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salami to go with them

After each tasting there is free time to wander, take photos of the hills or simply sit with the view. Wine can be bought by the bottle or the box, to carry home or have shipped. The coach has air conditioning and Wi-Fi.

Lunch, tips and hotel pickup are not included. Friends who book separately may not end up on the same bus, and the group can be split in two for the winery visits. The tour is not suitable for wheelchair users.
