About this tour
A kayak tour in Gallipoli puts you at water level on the Salento coast for about two hours, with a guide beside you and all the gear provided: kayak, paddle, life jacket and a snorkelling mask. The meeting point is on the dock's ramp in the Conchiglie-Alto Lido area.
After a short welcome and a briefing of around 20 minutes on the basics of paddling, you set off at a relaxed pace. If the sea allows, the route heads for the Quattro Colonne and the Montagna Spaccata, where a small cave opens in the rocks and is best seen from the kayak. Or the kayaks turn the other way, towards Gallipoli, past sand dunes, wild vegetation and quiet coves.
- A trip offshore, with nothing around you but blue
- A stop at a cove for a swim and some snorkelling
- A route of around 4.5 km, covered in two hours with the briefing included
The group also picks up any rubbish found floating on the way and brings it back to shore.
Single kayaks are for anyone from 14 years old who wants to paddle on their own. Up to two children aged 4 to 13 per group can ride as passengers in a double kayak, always with an adult. You should feel confident in the water, and the outing can be cancelled or rescheduled if the weather or sea is not safe.
