The Church of the Sacred Heart stands in front of the public gardens of the Prolungamento a Mare.
Since 2013, on Sundays and holidays, the Divine Liturgy is also celebrated in the church for the faithful of the Byzantine-Ukrainian Catholic Church.
The church was built to meet the needs of the population that settled in the new neighborhoods of Savona, constructed between the late 19th century and the early 20th century in the area between Priamar and Letimbro.
Of large dimensions, the building appears sober and austere, lacking particular artistic value and there are no significant works preserved within. It has a single nave with a square presbytery and is devoid of a bell tower.
