San Pietro church, founded before the year 1000, was handed over to the Jesuits after being destroyed several times. The Jesuits rebuilt it in 1587 (the façade dates back to this century). It has a beautiful Baroque altar coming from the cathedral.
The Jesuits Board Palace nearby, built in 1593, encloses part of the church, the right wing hosts Passerini-Landi library, which has been open since 1774 and preserves, among several precious works, the oldest dated volume (1336) of the Divine Comedy, handwritten by a monk, and Angilberga's Psalter, written on parchment.
