Three reasons to go to Caffè della Penna: to commemorate the Perugian poet Sandro Penna; for its vicinity (also in intent) to Palazzo Penna, located on Via Podiani; and as a literary metaphor of a versatile café where ideas are born and are dipped into the ink of an old inkwell. Along with having a library with more than 100 books on loan, the café is enlivened by various events, such as the offering of typical aperitifs with regional foods and wines, and live music in the evenings featuring up-and-coming bands, as well as DJ sets, guided tastings, the presentation of books, readings, and photography exhibitions.
