The Palace of Reserves, by Ennemond Petitot, has housed the Glauco Lombardi Museum since 1961. The museum hosts and preserves a rich artistic and historical documentation on the Duchy of Parma from the second half of the 18th century to the Unity of Italy, particularly on the reign of Marie Louise of Austria. Seven halls house a collection of works of art, pieces of furniture, diaries, garments, jewels, documents and Bourbon curiosities.
Among the items that used to belong to Marie Louise is her wedding dowry, designed in 1810 by Prud'hon and given to the Duchess by her husband Napoleon as well as her embroidery basket.
The collection also boasts water-colours by Naudin, engravings by P. Toschi and B. Bossi, a collection of 18th century Parmesan and French paintings and watercolors painted by the Duchess.
