The Archbishop's Palace of Lucca, home of the Archdiocese, is located in piazza Arrigoni. The complex, after the expansion of the second half of the fifteenth century, had more substantial interventions in the eighteenth century.
The adjacent home of the Archiepiscopal Archives - which can be accessed through a portal of the beginning of the fifteenth century, with wooden doors by Jacopo da Villa - houses the Archdiocesan Archive of Lucca: one of the richest collections of scrolls. The Chapter Library is now attached to it. The collection of illuminated manuscripts, of fundamental importance to the figurative culture of Lucca, is presented in a special room of the Museum of the Cathedral.
