The church is the only remaining part of the Gesuate nuns' convent, founded in 1518. The exterior presents the typical structure of an oratory, with two barred windows flanking the central door, adorned with a glazed terracotta from the second half of the 16th century depicting the Madonna between Saints Joseph and Jerome. The interior, with a single nave and a vaulted ceiling, underwent a rearrangement of its furnishings in the mid-17th century, which was enriched with carved and gilded wooden structures: a choir loft against the back wall and a smaller one on the left side, two side altars, and the decoration of the apse with the imposing main altar. The main altar features a late 16th-century panel depicting Saints Paul, Joseph and Jerome by Lorenzo Zacchia.
