Embark on a thrilling adventure to the majestic Mount Etna, where you'll reach dizzying heights of 3,000 meters and marvel at the breathtaking panoramic views near the volcano's summit. Under the expert guidance of a certified guide, explore the rugged terrain of this active volcano while maintaining a safe distance from the danger zone. Your journey begins at the Bar Esagonal, situated at an altitude of 1,900 meters. From there, take a scenic cable car ride to 2,500 meters, before setting out on foot to conquer Mount Etna's majestic slopes. Thanks to special authorization for scientific research, you'll have the privilege of ascending beyond the regular altitude limit of 2,750 meters, reaching an exhilarating 3,000 meters (weather permitting and assuming no altitude sickness within the group). As you venture deeper into the volcanic landscape, come face-to-face with fumaroles emitting hot gas and trek alongside the banks of still-smoldering lava flows from recent eruptions. If conditions allow, you'll also delve into a picturesque basalt canyon and reach the base of the currently most active crater, the Southeast Crater. Next, make your way to the expansive craters formed in 2002, before descending a winter snow-covered path to return to the starting point.
