Embark on an unforgettable adventure starting from Piano Provenzana, where we'll venture into the heart of Mount Etna on a guided trail at an impressive 2,900 meters above sea level. Our off-road vehicles will take us along a stunning mountain route, weaving through ancient lava flows and volcanic sand created during the 2002 eruption. As we explore the craters formed in 2002, we'll delve into the fascinating process of volcanic creation. Take in the kaleidoscope of colors emanating from the unique minerals scattered throughout the landscape, ranging from vibrant yellows to deep blues. The breathtaking panorama stretches as far as the eye can see, encompassing the picturesque Gulf of Taormina, the Bay of Naxos, the Straits of Messina, and the mountain ranges of Nebrodi to Rocca Novara. Next, our off-road vehicles will take us to an altitude of 2,900 meters, where we'll discover the North-East crater, home to the volcano observatory. From here, we'll embark on a leisurely hike along a path surrounded by scorched volcanic terrain and ancient lava bombs. The ascent is approximately 300 meters, leading us to a vantage point at 2,900 meters, where we'll marvel at the sheer scale and majesty of the volcanic landscape. On a clear day, the views are nothing short of spectacular, with the "Lion" and "Bove" valleys coming into view, as well as the grandeur of the North East and South East. As our tour comes to a close, we'll make our way back down through Piano delle Concazze and return to Piano Provenzana, the starting point of our incredible journey.
