Built during the medieval era by the Lords of Porta Sant'Orso (later known as the "Lords of Quart"), it became known as the "Tour de l'Insinuation" in 1830 and housed the office that kept public notary documents.

Later it became an exhibition space and today it houses the Aosta Tourist Office.
