Villa Ghislanzoni is part of an arable farm of around 40 acres, situated near the banks of the River Tribolo.
Villa Ghislanzoni del Barco, now Curti, has belonged to the Curti family since 1864. We still have the documents relative to the sale. The Palladian Villa Gazzotti was bought by the Curti family in 1897.
The Villa has witnessed numerous historical events. The gates’ stone tablet tells of the visit of King Vittorio Emanuele and the Brigata Piemonte who passed by on May 5 th May 1918.
Garden lovers will delight in seeing the original greenhouse with its antique glass, erected at the beginning of the twentieth century,on the east side of the villa. It was built on the site of the Lemon House.During the winter, the greenhouse shelters thelemon trees, honeysuckle, oleander, bougainvillea, that are moved outside in the Summer to decorate the villa’s garden
The ficus repens plant is spectacular. For centuries, it has climbed along the walls and covers the entire ceiling reaching a length of 50m. In the garden there are many species of beautiful plants and trees: oak, magnolia, cedar, lime, beach, maple and an ancient birch-lined lane that can be seen on the Villa’s plans dating back to the Napoleonic era.
