The building, also known as Cansignorio Palace, was a residence of the Scaligeri family since the thirteenth century. It was rebuilt by Cansignorio in the second half of the fourteenth century. The building was built on a complex of buildings of different ages and with different intended uses, which still bears the traces. It was restored at the end of the nineteenth century to accommodate judicial offices.
The palace has a massive tower, a beautiful portal of Michele San Micheli, a central courtyard of the fifteenth century, closed and bounded by a loggia with three orders porch. Also note the door of the Bombers, dating back to the seventeenth century.
