On September 11, 2012 the bronze statue dedicated to the Count of Cavour, which first stood in the square XXV Aprile (opposite the Porta Nuova railway station), has been relocated to the city's historic center, in front of the Castelvecchio. The decision of the Mayor Tosi has been challenged in terms of aesthetics: the monument would ruin the overall view of the old castle.
