Given the few parkings (charges apply including those of the hotel) and the road that is very narrow and winding, it is advisable to leave your car in La Spezia. In the numerous car parks in the city is active a free shuttle service to get to the bus stops that will take you in 30 minutes to Portovenere.
By boat
The ferries to Portovenere depart from the moorings of La Spezia and from the Cinque Terre towns. As all the towns in Liguria, we advise you not to visit Portovenere wearing a heel 12! Flat and comfortable shoes will allow you to venture in without too much effort in the up and down of the alleys.
For those traveling with babies or very young children, better equip themselves with baby carriers, baby backpacks bags avoiding strollers more difficult to handle in the stairs of some alleys.
If you love long walks, you can not miss the charming Sentiero Azzurro (blue path) that touches the villages of the Cinque Terre, or the path that connects Portovenere to Riomaggiore (approximately 4 hours).
