Elliptical square dominated by a bronze statue dedicated to King Vittorio Emanuele II, built by Cesare Zocchi. The construction of the square was immediately following that of the station, which took place in 1862. In the square you can also see the neo-Gothic Palazzo delle Poste and the Palace of the Province.
After nearly 10 years of work an underground car park was built and the square transformed and renewed, increasing the pedestrian area.
