The Lungarno Fibonacci is the riverbank close to the fortress of San Gallo and Scotto garden. The fortress was built at the time of the domination of Florence, in the fifteenth century, and it was probably designed by F. Brunelleschi. In the eighteenth century, the structure lost its original function and was included in private palaces. In 1798, it became a property of the Scotto family who transformed the walls into a covered walkway and the interior into a beautiful garden. Since 1934 it is owned by the City.
