In October 1932 Giuseppe Fagioli opened his clothing shop on Corso Vannucci, with innovative black lacquered décor in following with the Futurist style of the time. Since then many famous customers have passed through its doors – it is impossible to mention them all, but a few names to be remembered include: Maria Callas, Totò, Carmelo Bene, and Curzio Malaparte, who wrote that during his stays in the Perugia area, he would abandon the pleasant quiet of the countryside for the pleasure of purchasing neckties from Fagioli.
