Stoppani is a historical coffee founded by Swiss confectioners now in its fifth generation. It was the place where in 1860 the plebiscite of citizens declared the annexation of Bari to the Kingdom of Italy. Even if moved from its original location in Corso Vittorio, it has retained its traditions.
It hosted famous guests such as Kaiser Wilhelm II, Vittorio Emanuele III with Queen Elena, Italo Balbo, General Badoglio, Umberto Nobile, the first president of the Italian Republic De Nicola, the philosopher Benedetto Croce, the scientist Guglielmo Marconi.
