This park is located within Villa Borghese. Also known as the "Park of Perspectives," it was the second enclosure in the 17th-century design and was reserved for the Prince.
Colossal Termini, works of Pietro Bernini and his son Gian Lorenzo, were placed to delineate the avenues. The backdrop, adjacent to the boundary wall, is the Prospettiva del Teatro, richly decorated with ancient reliefs, created around 1615.
The area's current name is linked to the presence of fallow deer and gazelles, which remained there until the 19th century.
