Built between 1766 and 1771 by Michele Gravina and Crujllas, Prince of Comitini and Pretor of the city, who entrusted the work to the architect Nicolò Palma.
Since 1860, it has been the seat of the Provincial Administration. The frescoed interiors were sumptuously decorated towards the end of the 18th century, including magnificent trompe l'oeil frescoes, furnishings, paintings, etc.: undoubtedly, the Sala Martorana, the seat of the Provincial Council, is of considerable interest, where there is a wealth of decoration typical of the 18th century, consisting of gilded boiseries that envelop the walls, including mirrors and painted figures in frames, whose subjects are both religious and historical, and the splendid fresco of the vault created by Gioacchino Martorana, with the "Triumph of True Love" in the center in an explosion of colors and lights.
