The path has been designed with particular attention to communication. Videos, images, reconstructions of 'workshops' make the visit route a means of 'traveling' into the world of papier-mâché and its symbolic city: Lecce.
An unbreakable bond between the city and the art of papier-mâché, renewed by the tradition kept alive by the papier-mâché workshops that fascinate those who wander through the scenic backdrops of the streets of the Baroque city.
The collection comprises about 80 works by the leading Lecce papier-mâché artists, including Caretta, Capoccia, Guacci, Errico, Pantaleo, Mazzeo, Indino, Malecore, Gallucci, and covers a time span that goes from the 18th century to the present day with works by international artists such as Emilio Farina and the Brazilian Lucia Barata.
The museum is housed in the rooms on the ground floor of the Castello Carlo V.
