A very original artists, Maria Antonietta Taticchi learned the techniques and secrets of ceramics at Guido Montanari’s pottery in Deruta. Umbrian landscapes finely rendered in sunny colors are tastefully and delicately painted over a white background on a variety of pottery shapes. A 1986 graduate of the Perugia fine arts academy, Taticchi opened her own workshop, choosing to focus on quality rather than quantity. A series of tiles done by Taticchi can be seen set into the pavement in the square on Via dei Priori, in front of the Church of Santo Stefano.
