The facade of the church of the souls in Purgatory, in the Baroque style, built between 1726 and 1747, deals with the subject of death and the transience of life. The skeleton of death dominates the portal, with skulls of bishops and rulers in the portal boxes recall the impossibility for man to escape divine judgment.
On either side of the entrance are the statue of the Archangel Raphael with Tobias and the Archangel Michael winner of Lucifer. On the portal you can still read a Latin inscription: "Miseremini mei, saltem vos friends mei".
The interior has a circular plan, three altars and four pairs of columns made with local stone, decorated to look like marble or granite. All around, you can admire the paintings by Francesco Oliva, and at the top the wonderful wooden dome, decorated with images of the Evangelists and Doctors of the Church. Beautiful are also the wooden pulpit and the choir on which is located an antique organ.
