About this tour
The Mantua Cathedral bell tower rises over the historic heart of the city, and this visit takes you up inside it. From the viewpoints, which reach up to 40 metres, you look out over the squares, the lakes and the Gonzaga palaces.
Along the way, information points play audio tracks in Italian and English, included with your ticket. They tell the story of the tower itself, the Romanesque core of the Cathedral of Saint Peter: a heavy square structure opened up by windows with two and three arches, squeezed between a late Baroque facade and the Gothic flank of the church.
The belfry reopened after a major restoration and now offers a way into the treasures of the Diocese of Mantua and of the UNESCO-listed city. A coupon for visiting the Dome of Saint Andrew comes with the ticket.
