The building, which was the residence of the Marquises of Canossa, was erected in the 17th century. The ashlared façade, enriched with stucco panels, shows windows and frame decorations and reminds of the 16th century solutions of Giulio Romano. The portal with the statues of the dog, i.e. the coat of arms of the Canossa family, is also very interesting. The portal is furthermore sided by marble columns, which support the overhanging balcony.
The monumental staircase, which is a remarkable example of Baroque architecture, enables to access the main floor.
