Meander through the picturesque Serchio river valley, where nature's splendor unfolds. The gentle flow of the river is punctuated by water jumps, and the lush terraces are a haven for a diverse array of bird species. Embark on the Puccini cycle path, named after the renowned composer Giacomo Puccini, born in Lucca. This scenic route connects the Serchio valley to Lucca, where medieval towers and the impressive "Rocca di Ripafratta" await. As you approach the ancient walls of Lucca, the breathtaking views will leave you in awe. Lucca, a treasure trove of art, music, history, and gastronomy, is yours to explore. Ride through the narrow streets and admire the majestic towers that rise above the rooftops. Be fascinated by the Guinigi Tower, with its unique hanging garden, and explore the charming ancient shops along via Fillungo. The Roman amphitheater and Napoleon squares are equally enchanting. Take a gourmet break and indulge in local delights such as cecina, necci (chestnut pancake) with ricotta, buccellato, and Lucchese soup. Duration of the tour: 50 km (25 km to Lucca and 25 km back to Pisa). Optional: Take the regional train back to Pisa with your bike for a small ticket supplement. Alternatively, you can leave your bike in Lucca for an additional fee (ask at the bike rental).
