It was built between 1685 and 1689 .The baroque project of Pier Mattia Angeloni presents harmonious architectonical lines and rich ornaments inside. The main work of art inside is the altar-piece by Corrado Giaquinto, representing the 'Birth of the Vergin with St Manzio' (1752).
The Confraternita of the Suffragees was founded in 1633 in order to remember the souls of the Purgatory, whereas the little church was built between 1685 and 1689, upon a project by Pier Mattia Angeloni (the main architect of the 16th hundreds in Cesena). Above the three altars of the origins four paintings by G. B. Razzani were placed. In the second half of the 18th century the facade of the church and the interior were hugely changed and took the present looks.
The exterior is naked and only the door is the original of the 17th century. The interior, on the contrary, is rich and recalls the baroque style, with palsters and statues by Francesco Calligari. In the counterfacede, an organ of 1761. On the right, today we can admire the former main altar (before the works of the 17th hundreds). Above, the painting called I Ss. Liborio, Giuseppe e Luigi Gonzaga (Francesco Andreini, 1751), with statue of the Madonna Addolorata. At the sides, two statues by Calligari representing two cardinal virtues. On the main altar, the valuable Natività della Vergine con S. Manzio, painted by Corrado Giaquinto (born in Molfetta but formed in Neaple) in 1752. The splendiferous ancona in marble (by Giovanni Fabbri (1753- 55)) has his project, as well. At the sides of the altar, statues of the Charity and of the Hope by the Riminese Antonio Trentanove (1801).
On the left, an altar with L’Immacolata e i Ss. Giuseppe, Francesco d’Assisi, Antonio da Padova e le Anime Purganti (G. B. Razzani, 1656-57 ca.), unique of the original paintings by Razzani which has been left in the original position; at the sides, two other statues by Calligari.
