In order to have the most striking view of the tower, we suggest taking via San Simone from via Oberdan and turning into vicolo Mandria on your right.

Here, the Uguzzoni Tower stands out in a corner where time seems to have stopped. The thirty-two-metre tall tower has a wide base covered with selenite blocks and a 16th-17th century turret on the top.

The ancient door with its selenite lintel has a pointed arch made of bricks. The unusual way windows are arranged (one round arch window on the left and another one in the middle) leads us to think that this was a tower-house.

Below the window at the first floor level five putlog holes that held the wooden beams of the hoarding complete the picture of one of the most characteristic corners of medieval Bologna.
