Chocolate made in Puglia since 1875, when the Maglio arrived in Maglie (Le), where the company still has headquarters. The talent and tenacity of Antonio, who opened an inn with change of horses, laid the foundations of a brand that has spanned decades, fashions, wars, social changes.
To follow the customs of the time, Joseph, son of Antonio, opened a cafe in the city center with an adjacent laboratory for sweets. Worthy heir of a father so enterprising was Dante, who in the early twentieth century not only added to the main activity the one of banquets and receptions at home, but also started the production of liqueurs. As for the many specialties made with almond paste, Dante found in chocolate, used for coating, a valuable ally to prolong the conservation.
The son Vincenzo, in the 60s, found fertile ground to intensify the production of chocolate and pastry: innovative spirit, invented recipes, enriched confectionery and decided to identify the company with the brand with the buggy.
