The house of Romeo is one of Shakespeare's places in Verona. Although historians claim that it was the abode of Cagnolo Nogarola, the grand building is known as the home of Romeo. Since the family of the Montecchi, really existed, and lived in this neighborhood of Verona, the place has been designated to pass the charm of Shakespeare's tragedy.
The building, located near the Scaliger tombs, is a typical medieval house and is externally well preserved. Privately owned, is inhabited, so you can not visit it inside. The beautiful Gothic façade of the fourteenth century, however, is perfectly suited to the love story of William Shakespeare.
On the front an inscription in memory of the story of the two lovers: "Oh! Where is Romeo? ... Shut up, I lost myself, I am not here and I am not Romeo, Romeo is elsewhere."
