Visit a winery carved into the stone, stroll through organic vineyards overlooking the sea, and taste elegant Cabernet and Sauvignon. An authentic experience of Salento, wine, architecture and landscape.
There is a place in Salento where wine is born from stone. It's not a metaphor. It's a true story that begins in 2017, when Antonio and Liliana Intiglietta – originally from Puglia, Milanese by adoption – choose to return to the land. Not out of nostalgia, but out of vision.
In Parabita, in the heart of Salento, they found an old, abandoned tuff quarry. They restored it, transformed it, and brought it into the present. This is how a winery was created that is unlike any other: contemporary in spirit, millennia-old in material. The golden stone of Salento — carparo — becomes architecture, atmosphere, and story.
A project that challenges convention.
Tenuta Liliana does not follow the logic of traditional Apulian wine. It chooses Cabernet Sauvignon, the international grape variety par excellence, and plants it in the calcareous and breezy soils of Parabita and Alezio, between the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. The result is unexpected: Mediterranean elegance, tannic finesse, aromatic depth, and vibrant freshness. A wine that speaks to the world with an unmistakably Salento accent.
But the project doesn't stop at red. Cabernet Sauvignon also gives rise to a rosé with character – fresh, vertical, with citrus and saline notes – capable of telling the story of Salento in a bright and contemporary way. Sauvignon Blanc grows on 1.5 dedicated hectares. It is an aromatic and refined grape variety that has found a new voice in the soils of Salento: a fine, citrusy profile with a salinity that tastes of the sea and the Mediterranean wind.
Three different souls, one identity: that of a land that surprises.
Cultivated under a certified organic regime with a regenerative viticulture approach, the vineyards of Tenuta Liliana stretch between the Ionian and Adriatic Seas. Each plot has its own identity, its own altitude, its own character, its own terroir: from the hill of Contrada Specchia, at 200 meters, to the sea breeze of Contrada Mitriano, at 5 meters above sea level. The terroir is not an abstract concept: it is the signature of each bottle.
The ambition is clear: to create Apulian wines capable of competing with the great international appellations. Not by imitating anyone, but by evolving through the light, wind, and soils of the Mediterranean.
A place where wine is experienced, not just drunk.
The winery in the quarry is not just a place of production: it is an experience. Walking among the organic rows, descending into the stone, feeling the silence of the quarry transform into the scent of wine is something that remains.
Tenuta Liliana opens its doors to those who really want to understand what it means to make wine with identity, with courage, with respect for the land. An unexpected, authentic, unforgettable Salento.
