Connected to Piazza Piccola, Piazza Cavagneria extends along the southern side of the Duomo and the ancient part of the broletto. Originally intended, as the place name suggests, for the manufacture and trade of cavagne, wicker baskets used for harvesting and transporting grapes during the grape harvest, it is now primarily a place for commercial activities.
