Designed and built between 1491 and 1495 by architect Antonio Amadei at the behest of Giovanni Francesco Bottigella, who had it rebuilt on the site of an older building, of which the entrance portal remains, equipped with the original 15th-century wooden doors.
The facade was plastered in the Baroque era and presents nothing of note. Of great interest is the courtyard, one of the most beautiful of the Pavia Renaissance, with an elegant portico on the ground floor and a loggia on the upper floor.
The exquisite pictorial decoration, recently restored, is perhaps due to the brush of Bernardino Lanzani. The interior, which also hosted Duke Ludovico il Moro and ambassadors of the Serenissima, preserves some rooms with stucco vaults, 17th-century frescoes, and Baroque fireplaces.
For many years it has been home to the Gandini school.
