The Liberation Museum is located in some rooms of the Palazzo Guinigi in the historical center of Lucca and showcases documents, testimonies, photographs, memorabilia and uniforms from the period of the Resistance.
Built in 1988 by a group of veterans of the Second World War, the museum pays tribute to the memory of the citizens of Lucca who contributed to the liberation of the territory of the province of Lucca from Nazi occupation.
A section of the five rooms is dedicated to store urns containing the land of the military cemeteries of Italy and the Italian places where Nazis massacres were committed as sad testimony of those who have sacrificed their lives for their homeland.
