The Church of San Tommaso is a church in Lucca located on the street of the same name. It presents the structure acquired following the radical reconstruction that took place between the 12th and 13th centuries. It has a single-nave structure with brickwork except for the façade, which is clad in white limestone. The portal bears a decoration of swollen scrolls attributable to a workshop of Guidetto. The interior was completely transformed between the 17th and 18th centuries; from this phase remain works by some of the most interesting painters active in Lucca, such as the Saint Anthony of Padua by Gian Domenico Ferrucci, and the Sermon of Saint Francis Xavier by Antonio Franchi. Of particular note are three large canvases by Giovanni Coli and Filippo Gherardi, the Immaculate Conception, the Incredulity of Saint Thomas, and the Martyrdom of Saint Thomas.
