The Church of San Benedetto in Gottella is a church in Lucca located in Piazza Bernardini. Already mentioned in the 10th century, it was rebuilt in the 13th century in brick, with a stone facade, striped with bands of white limestone in the upper part. In the apsidal area, there are fragments from the early Middle Ages, remnants of the presbytery decorations of the previous church. Under the cornice of the crowning, there are ceramic basins from the 13th century, of Ligurian manufacture. Inside, a renovation in the early 19th century canceled both the medieval structure and subsequent renovations, particularly the 17th century one. From the collection of altarpieces, the Madonna and Child between Saints Benedict and Margaret by Bartolomeo Brandimarte remains.
