The Church of the Holy Trinity is a church in Lucca located on Via Elisa. Completed in 1595, it has a single nave covered by a barrel vault, and is characterized on the facade by elements derived from Ammannati; the building is, moreover, directly related to the facing entrance portal to Villa Buonvisi. The interior layout originally envisaged the presence of only the high altar, on which the Trinity with Saints John the Baptist, Paulinus, Sebastian, Anthony, and Catherine was placed by Pietro Paolini. A side altar houses the Madonna del Latte by Matteo Civitali. The nuns' choir opens into the church with three arches on Doric columns. Decoration began in 1595 with the Trinity frescoed on the vault by Pietro Sorri, and concluded by 1721, with the intervention of Domenico Brugieri.
