The Sicilian Landing Museum - 1943 is dedicated to the historical event that marked the beginning of the liberation of Sicily and Italy from German occupation during World War II. On July 10th, American and British forces landed on the eastern part of Sicily, near Gela and Augusta respectively. The Museum traces the stages of the battles that took place primarily in western Sicily, including Gela, Augusta, Agira, Floridia, Troina, Ponte di Primo Sole, Catania, and Messina.
