Details
Steeped in history, the Montevecchio estate has been in the family's possession since April 20, 1456, a fact proudly recorded in the family archives. The stunning palace, built in the mid-16th century, incorporates a medieval tower erected by the illustrious Matilde di Canossa in the 11th century. Perched atop a hill, the palace offers a panoramic view of Bologna and its rolling hills. Next to the villa, the former stables, once home to cows and horses, have been elegantly repurposed as the winemaking cellar and tasting room. Your tour begins in the ancient cellar beneath the palace, carved into the rock in the 1500s, where our red wines gently age. You'll then explore the modern area, equipped with autoclaves and steel tanks. The grand finale? A wine tasting of four exquisite selections, perfectly paired with local cured meats and artisanal cheeses. The Isolani family's rich history is inextricably linked with that of Bologna, a centuries-old bond that continues to flourish.
