According to some scholars, the church of San Giuliano can be attributed to Vaccarini, who is believed to have built it between 1739 and 1751. The façade, concave in the center, is animated by a crowning loggia that is positioned at the height of the second order of the façade. On the broken pediment, which sits above the entrance portal, rest two allegorical female figures. The short forecourt, enclosed by a gate, is decorated with a pattern of black and white stones. Above, the dome is enveloped by a polygonal loggia that resembles the one on the church of Santa Chiara.
From this loggia, the nuns, often from families of Catanese nobility, could follow the procession of the feast of St. Agatha, which, on the night of the 5th, ascended along Via San Giuliano to turn, then, onto Via Crociferi. The interior, enveloped in a suggestive golden light, is a large octagonal space that houses the large chapels and altars.
