How to get to Sanremo

By bus

Sanremo is served by a number of inter-regional and suburban lines that connect it with Liguria (in particular with the centers of Genoa, Savona, Ventimiglia) and with the northern and central Italy (particularly Milan, Novara, Pescara). Numerous buses arrive from Italy and Europe to Ventimiglia: the 14km separating Ventimiglia from Sanremo can be covered by bus frequently throughout the day. It is advisable to visit the dedicated website of the bus and carefully check services active only in summer.
By train

The Sanremo train station, a short walk from the city center, is located on the railway line Genoa-Ventimiglia and Torino-Cuneo-Ventimiglia. The main hub from Italy is Genoa, while from France is the station of Nice. Other stations near Sanremo (within 15km) are Bordighera, Ventimiglia, Arma di Taggia and Vallecrosia.
By car

Coming from France, take the highway of the French Riviera to Ventimiglia, then the A10 Genoa-Ventimiglia direction Genoa and exit at Sanremo Ovest. For those arriving from the north and from Genoa, always the A10, direction Ventimiglia, exit Arma di Taggia.
By boat

In Sanremo, there are two ports, the Old Port where small boats and fishing vessels can moor and the Porto Sole, where you can moor boats from 5 to 90m in length.

Sanremo is perfect in summer as in winter, but you should carefully choose the period depending on the type of stay you want to do. For those who do not like the crowd and the crowded streets, is to avoid the period that coincides with the Festival (February) when it is not easy to find a place in hotels and restaurants. For those who choose to travel by car you are strongly advised not to get back on the road, on Highway of Flowers in the direction of Genoa, on Sunday afternoon or on the last day of a bridge or a festive period. The long tails can really put to the test; from Arma di Taggia to Genoa (usually takes about an hour and a quarter) can take up to five hours!
