Situated on the banks of the Canale Grande (Grand Canal), its distinguishing features are the twin-coloured bricks and elegant windows. It was designed by Giovanni Berlam, a rich Serbian merchant, in 1850. The façade is decorated with four statues representing figures from Serbian history. After belonging to Assicurazioni Danubio for a long time, the building is now the Museo Teatrale Fondazione Carlo Schmidl (Carlo Schmidl Theatrical Museum Foundation).
