This building takes up a full side of the town’s main square. It stands out from the other buildings in the square due to it unusual central tower. It was designed in 1870, at a time when it was usual to mix styles and so the architect, Giuseppe Bruni, mixed a bit of Venice, Tuscany, Germany and France, and, to put a seal on this strange mixture of styles, placed a large tower with a gigantic clock right in the middle. Two bronze bell-ringers, familiarly known as Michez and Jachez, surmount the tower.
