In the heart of the old city of Trieste, walking along via del Trionfo, visitors will find the Arch of Riccardo. The Arch of Riccardo, which is part of a house today, was probably erected in 33 b.C. According to a first interpretation the arch was one of the few entranceways to the city of Tergeste (Trieste during the roman period). Other researchers suppose the arch was a sanctuary of Magna Mater.
