Performed by James Gianotti (1837-1897), the statue represents the general and ambassador Carlo Nicolis di Robilant (1826-1888) in uniform; on the base are represented two female figures, one of which, veiled, symbolizes diplomacy. The work was inaugurated in 1900 in Piazza Cavour.
